Android Eclair (2.1) on your HTC Hero (KaguDroid)
A couple of days ago I posted a manual on how to root your HTC Magic and HTC Hero. I've been using the 2.1 custom ROM KaguDroid now for a couple of days on my HTC Hero. So far so good with KaguDroid. I've encountered very few errors.
The 4 things I did run into on KaguDroid:
*The camera is not working when set to 5MP photos
*You get a weird screen after you take a photo.
But you can take pictures, you just don't get the instant 'review' of the picture. When you go into the albums however, your picture is right there.
*When you install a live wallpaper the Hero automatically resets the wallpaper to your previous wallpaper when on standby. Thus, the live wallpapers don't work right now in KaguDroid. For me these small errors are nothing compared to the great benefits of KaguDroid. I love (!) Android 2.1 and I'd never even consider going back to the HTC official Cupcake ROM. I don't miss HTC Sense one bit.
*When you receive a phone call, it takes a bit before you can see who's calling (this is probably the most annoying bug)
